Chipotle!

You know you want some

So since the school year started, we've probably eaten at Chipotle more than any other place. It's quick, yummy, filling, and close by, so why not! However, one cannot go to Chipotle so often without forming some opinions about the food and those who eat it, so Chris (the more experienced one) and I are here to offer our opinions and observations.

Burrito: Burritos are for people who are not as exciting as everyone else. The burrito is the standard option, chosen either by a first time customer or a plain old regular Chipotle consumer. Chris doesn't like burritos because he doesn't like beans, but he does like tortillas. People who get burritos are...plain and simple. but cool! because they're eating a yummy Chipotle! but a plain one.

Fajita Burrito: Chris ALWAYS gets a steak fajita burrito (so what does that say about them?!? I do not know.) According to him, "the onions and peppers make it SO FREAKING GOOD". My analysis? I don't think I've ever had one of these, but people who get them are just...weird.

Burrito Bowl: I ALWAYS get a chicken fajita burrito bowl. Chris's take: burrito bowls originally came around so girls could trick themselves into thinking they were eating less than they actually are, because someone said that tortillas were the fattiest part of the burrito so they took them out, but some girls cheat by actually getting the tortilla too. "When everything is mixed together perfectly, it tastes a little weird". My take: burrito bowls are the best things in the WHOLE WORLD. They allow the eater to create their own mixture of ingredients, perfect for their unique palate, right on their own fork, whereas in a burrito, all the stuff is already stuffed in there. (Chris: the POINT of a burrito is not to use any forks or knives so the name burrito bowl is an oxymoron!) OKAY whatever Chris. Anyways these things are SUPER delicious, plus they're just better - you get more stuff (because there is a limit to what you can stuff in a tortilla of fixed area) PLUS you can even add lettuce and make it LOOK like you're eating healthily! People who get burrito bowls are...girls. (according to Chris.)

Tacos: Chris has never gotten tacos before. I got tacos once before, but I don't remember them being that good. Actually, what I remember is that I got them the night of our meeting with the newly elected 2011 class officers. And what I remember about that night is...accidentally spilling my water and having Daniel Ki run into the store and take like ALLL the napkins out of the dispenser...leaving us with about a million gazillion napkins that we were too embarrassed to return. The end. People who get tacos are...either adventurous or young at heart.

Salads: We didn't even know salads were on the menu until today. If you get a salad...tell us how it is.

Steak: Steak is the choice for those who want a traditional, delicious, filling option and are willing to spend that extra quarter for some good beef. I've never seen a boy not get steak (but Chris has...because he ran out of money) but anyways. It's YUMMY.

Chicken: Chicken is the choice for those who want a traditional, delicious, filling option but are perhaps not willing to go that extra 25 cents. Chicken. is just yummy. Chris has again observed that this is often the choice of girls.

Barbacoa & Carnitas: We've pretty much never seen anyone get either barbacoa or carnitas. If you do..you're really interesting! Send us your reviews! :)

Black or Pinto Beans: I don't think there's a difference. Neither Chris nor I gets beans anyways.

Salsa: The salsa comes in all different levels of hotness depending on your tolerance or daring. Chris never gets the mild or medium salsa, but sometimes he likes to get the hot to "spice things up a bit". I always get mild. It's very yummy, but frankly, I don't think i could stand anything more than mild. One time, the hot salsa accidentally got mixed into my bowl and my mouth almost DIED OF HOTNESS. If you can handle that stuff, you're heckaa iNTENSE.

Corn: Chris and I always get corn. According to Chris, it adds an extra "zing!" to the burrito. Apparently, it adds an extra "zing!" to everything. So yay corn! You guys should get it.

Sour Cream: OMG I LOVE SOUR CREAM. It's so delicious. Especially on a burrito bowl, because it's like the dressing of the salad. Without the sour cream, the bowl is incomplete - there is no glue to mesh the deliciousness together. Chris says he has experimented by taking out each ingredient separately from his burrito, and the lack of subtle flavor of the sour cream makes the burrito taste not as good, or so he says.

Cheese: I like cheese. Chris has the same opinion of cheese as sour cream - you don't miss it until its gone.

Guacamole: I never get guacamole on my burrito bowl - that is too much for my wallet. Chris also says it's really expensive, but it makes the burrito SOOO FREAKING GOOD. He says DEF get it if you have the extra money :) YUMMMMY.

Lettuce: According to Chris, lettuce is disgusting on a burrito and makes it too big. However, it is a central part of a good burrito bowl. Therefore, when I eat a burrito bowl, I'm getting more vegetables than Chris. So eat healthy, eat a burrito bowl!

Chris's gobble of perfection: steak fajita burrito with corn, sour cream, cheese, and guacamole (if $ is available)

Christine's yumminess in her stummy: chicken fajita burrito bowl with mild salsa, corn, sour cream, cheese, and lettuce (YUM!)

Okay! This concludes our Chipotle analysis. Feel free to comment your opinions & submit YOUR perfect Chipotle! :) OM NOM NOM.

Love,
Christine & Chris

Cars

SERENA!!!

At the age of 15 and a half every American child is eligible to experience the wonders and boredom of automobile education. Today's blog post will be about our different adventures in cars, random quirks about driving, and both Christine's and my own experience going through the American driving system.

For the two of us, its Christine who always drives. I mean, shes the one with the license, the car (Serena), but also the freaky driving habits. I'm really serious about that last one. Christine is a great driver...kinda....actually no. I remember one of the first times Christine drove me to Daiso (the local dollar store) we circled for parking for literally 5 minutes looking for a parking slot that Christine could park in without having to turn left or right into. Eventually we did find such a space and successfully parked. However, as we got closer the car suddenly sped up to an incredibly fast speed and we sped towards the store wall. I threw up my hands to protect myself from imminent death but a screaming Christine managed to stop in time. Afterwards she claimed that she forgot which pedal was the brake and which was the gas but I still think she tried to plunge both her and myself into the abyss before getting cold feet as many people do in the face of death. HAHAHA that sounds so morbid. But seriously, this has happened in several occasions since that death trip to Daiso. How hard is it to remember that the gas is on the right and the brake is on the left? Or is it?

Another thing that Christine likes to do in the car is eat. Harkening back to our post from the other day, she does that a lot :P Anyway, there was this one time when Christine and I were driving and she decided to spit out her gum. In the car there is a plastic bag hanging near the passenger side floor. Get this, Christine decides to lean WAAAAY over and spit the gum into the bag. I, the passenger, keep my eyes on the road and notice immediately a perceptible slide to the left. I panickly (thats not a word btw) asked Christine "what are you doing" before we crossed the center divide and into oncoming traffic. She quickly straightened up and readjusted with the gum still in her mouth. And guess where the gum ended up going. My HAND!!! That's right, Christine spit the freaking gum out in my hand to throw away. Who does that? I don't know but apparently Christine does.

My last and final experience was on the highway with Christine. Yes I went on the highway with Christine, call me crazy, delusional, even suicidal but how else was I supposed to get to 2009's Baccalaureate ceremony? Anyway, the actual driving was alright. I think the main feeling of utter terror was right before we got on. We were going down 85 South during rush hour and the lights that regulate the flow of traffic were on. The slow counting of green and red seemed to be counting down on our demise as we got closer and closer to the front of the pack. When we got to the front I commented that "this really feels like a roller coaster". It turned green, and off we went. Since I am writing this for you today, you can tell I survived. But its going to be a while before we do that again. Now I'll give Christine sometime to say something...

So Chris and I have had many adventures in Serena, my lovely silver Volkswagen GTI. I'm sure he already extolled my amazing driving skills, as well as told stories about my random moments of semi-failure/mistakes (but those happen VERY infrequently). However, I am going to talk about the FUN (kind of) that we (and others) have had with Serena (who is named after Serena van der Woodsen, btw). Okay, so I'll start with my parking skills. I'll admit, I used to be a REALLY bad parker. I pretty much only parked in slanty spots and spots with no other cars around. One time, we had a meeting at Panera, but there were too many cars in the lot, so I parked ALL THE WAY in the back. At the spot that I could drive right into. Okay, actually I'm still this bad of a parker. So don't park next to me!!! On that note...we can also have lots of fun while Serena is parked! On one occasion, I thought it would be fun to see if I could fit inside Serena's trunk, so I climbed inside, and Chris closed the door, promising that he would open it again in a few seconds. A few seconds later, I heard "Uh Christine...the trunk is locked". A few moments of panic ensued, but luckily, I learned that Serena's remote also works from INSIDE the trunk!! How exciting! Lastly...I have found that quite a few boys on the campus want Serena. Like really WANT her. She must be HECKAAA CUTE or something, but some people (namely Will...and Kevin...) have quite the obsession with her. One time, Will stole my keys and was pretty much sitting Serena before I even noticed. Needless to say I am much more protective about Serena's keys. Don't even TRY getting near her, okay?!

BTW I (Chris) can't drive until January so don't ask me yet. :D

Comida!

Hello! So this is our second post, and as we said, this blog/vlog is going to be a wonderful store of randomness!! That said, today we're going to talk about FOOD!! OM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM. And hopefully make your stomach rumble with happiness! Or unhappiness..because you're not eating now!

Chris: My favorite food is sushi. But it can't be any kind of sushi. It HAS to be the sushi bar. If you've never sat at a sushi bar before you have never tried good sushi. I know it sounds cliche but the flavors and the tastes are so much more vibrant when you take them from the bar. When you eat one of those delectable bites they make your eyes bulge with wonderment. My first time was only a couple of months ago but oh my gosh was it amazing. It was so good tears almost welled up in my eyes (I'm being serious). Since that first time, I've been to eat on the sushi bar for 3 additional times. One of the drawbacks of the sushi bar is the price. Unfortunately with great taste comes great price. It can range from anywhere from 25-50 dollars per person. The best place I have ever eaten is here. Check it out!!!!

Christine: So I was GOING to pick sushi as my favorite food...but then Chris STOLE it! Haha jk. But that is wayy up there. Anyways, you know what is REALLY good?! PASTA. I LOVE pasta. Not only is it incredibly filling, it's so delicious! Pasta is great because there's so many combinations, you could eat it everyday and never get bored! There's white sauce, and red sauce, and cheese filling, and mushroom filling, and pasta with meat, and pasta without meat, it's all so GOOD. I would have to say my favorite though would be something with CHEESE. LOTS of cheese. And definitely white sauce, although that means that I have to run extra to burn it all off :) OMG. Okay just thinking about this is making me HUNGRY. One yummy pasta experience I remember was before Junior Prom. We went to this place called Pasta? How do you even pronounce that?!

OKAY so now it's time for the BEST STORY EVER. One time, Chris and I went to this place called Kitsho Sushi (off Stevens Creek) to eat dinner. Before going, I told Chris that I only had $6, so he said that he would spot me, because he has a card, so its all good. So we went and had our dinner (which was veryy yummy btw!) and then asked for the check when we were done (because we can't leave without paying!). Chris put his card down, and we waited. However, very shortly, the waitress came back and said...Do you have another card? This one has been declined..UH OH. So to make a long story kind of short, I had to drive away to Vallco to withdraw money from an ATM (which I only found with help from the lovely Tereza Guzman), while Chris had to stay in the restaurant all alone :( Plus I also got lost on the way back :( But oh well...it was an ADVENTURE!

Lastly, HOMECOMING UPDATES! Homecoming is only THIRTEEN DAYS AWAY!! That means it's time to ignite that Matador spirit! Get ready for POWDERPUFF this week, ask that special someone ;), and GO TO FLOATBUILDING!!!

That's it for now!

Love,
Chris & Christine :)

Commencement.

Christine and I were bored today over video chat so we decided to start a blog together. We’ve been meaning to find someway to detail our final year in high school and short of a scrapbook we felt that this would be the most exciting and technological option. Hopefully, over the next school year or so we will be upkeeping this blog as well as an EXCITING vlog over youtube! Who knows? The boundaries are limitless! This being the first blog lets get down to business.

We’re not really sure how to do any sort of blogging or vlogging of any kind. This will be our first serious attempt. Over the next few months we will be touching down on and mentioning topics of all kinds from school drama to world wide news. There really isn’t a specific direction for our blog and vlog ideas but we do know that we at least want it to be an enjoyable and interesting experience. Any support that we could get from you, the reader, would be amazing and really supportive. Again, this is purely for fun and we’re seeing where this idea might take us.

We hope that you find our thoughts interesting and hopefully not too boring. We look forward to hearing from any of our readers/listeners throughout the year and we’re really excited to get started. By the way, one more thing! Try to ignore the plethora of grammar mistakes that will be coming your way. I personally (Chris) will be writing as if I were talking. I don’t know about Christine…. actually I do HAHAHA but try to ignore the mistakes. This is meant to hopefully entertain and not to aggravate.
